Lisa Rigby, Principal

Lisa Rigby is a nonprofit fundraising consultant who works on the parts of development most people would rather avoid: the database, the calendar, and the handoff after a director leaves.

Her development work has centered on annual fund and membership programs for environmental nonprofits, running direct mail appeals, renewals, and new member acquisition across multiple channels. Before that she worked in business development, communications, HR, and operations. That range is why her practice now covers both the fundraising itself and the systems sitting underneath it.

She has handled gift processing, database management, and prospect research at the detail level, and she has run donor stewardship events where the point was not the evening itself but the relationship that followed it. She has built the stewardship workflows and production processes that keep a campaign consistent from one year to the next. For organizations in transition, she also manages change management and the onboarding and offboarding of staff and board members, so institutional knowledge does not walk out the door with the people who hold it.

She also chairs fundraising for a public school parent teacher association in an under-resourced district, where an all-volunteer committee raises close to $400,000 a year without development staff or a major gift pipeline.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and brings a designer's eye to direct mail that people actually open.

As a longtime supporter of nonprofits myself, I've seen firsthand the critical work these organizations accomplish. I founded my consulting practice because I realized that contributing my professional skills to enhance fundraising efforts creates far greater impact than my participation as a donor ever could. This drives my commitment to helping organizations build sustainable, effective fundraising programs.
